Arvada
Arvada, with a history dating back to before Colorado’s statehood in 1876, holds significance as the site of the first gold discovery that sparked the Western Gold Rush. Renowned for its role in developing the Colorado Central Railroad and once a thriving agricultural center, particularly for celery farming, Arvada’s roots delve into the 1850s. The town was officially established in 1870 and christened Arvada, named after an island in Syria, by Benjamin F. Wadsworth’s wife, Mary Ann. Incorporated in 1904, Arvada has evolved into a vibrant community of over 120,000 residents. Come enjoy the great Old Town Arvada and do not forget to visit the splendid and vibrant Farmers Market on Sundays!
